Starke County has a new highway superintendent. Daniel Dipert was appointed to the position by the county commissioners Monday.
The vote was two-to-one, with Bryan Cavender opposing the motion. Cavender’s motion to appoint Karl Swihart died for lack of a second.
Dipert will replace Rik Ritzler, who stepped down as county highway superintendent back in March, to take a job with Traffic Control Specialists.
