A storm that ripped through Starke County Saturday night reportedly claimed the life of an occupant inside a house trailer in San Pierre, according to the Starke County Coroner’s Office. Another person was transported to the hospital.
The name of the decedent was not released pending family notification.
Emergency personnel were called to the scene Saturday around 10:30 p.m. CT where high winds reportedly caused the damage to the home in the severe thunderstorm event.
The Starke County Sheriff’s Department and the Starke County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene, along with the North Judson Police Department, Starke County EMS, San Pierre Fire Department, and North Judson-Wayne Township Fire Department.
