Tri-Township School Board Authorizes Potential Reduction in Force

The Tri-Township Consolidated School Corporation could be looking at staffing cuts. The school board last month authorized Superintendent Kelly Shepherd to issue three reduction in force notices.

But he stressed they were an “insurance policy,” in case Tri-Township’s enrollment takes a big dip. “Superintendents have been doing a lot of discussing and talking, and we’re still kind of in the dark about what our enrollment’s going to come back to us in the fall,” he explained. “And there’s some wild estimates on that.”

Shepherd told the board that if enrollment remains steady, the reduction notices will be rescinded.
