The West Central School Board reviewed a plan concerning a return to in-person instruction when they met last week.
Superintendent Dan Zylstra said the plan is required in order to receive CARES Act Funds.
Zylstra commented, “We have to have a plan for what we’re going to do next fall in order to qualify to receive those funds. The details of our plan meet the requirements. We’re going to be all in-person next year. We’re not planning to offer virtual options except for extreme reasons. Also, we’ll be making our masks optional as soon as that order expires. So, going into the 2021-2022 school year, masks will be optional for students and staff.”
That plan was approved by the school board.
Additionally, the school board discussed the superintendent’s three-year contract. It had been presented in a previous meeting for public comment and was up for approval at the school board’s special meeting last week. The contract did receive approval by the board.
