The number of new COVID-19 cases remains relatively low in the local area, but higher in the state as a whole. Marshall County had another three cases, according to Friday’s update from the Indiana Department of Health, while Starke County had one.
But the state as a whole reported another 786 cases. The number of Hoosiers hospitalized with COVID-19 symptoms is the highest it’s been since early June, and the seven-day, all-tests positivity rate calculated by the Indiana Department of Health is at its highest point since early February. However, Indiana continues to see a low number of COVID-19 deaths, with two added to the statewide count on Friday.
More than 16,000 Marshall County residents are now fully vaccinated, along with more than 6,600 Starke County residents and almost 4,500 Pulaski County residents. Vaccination information can be found at ourshot.in.gov.
