Another one of Culver’s Stellar Communities Designation projects is expected to wrap up in the next couple of weeks.
This portion of the West Jefferson Street Gateway project involves curbing, bumpouts, and sidewalks. The road has been closed sporadically during the construction to accomplish these details.
Utility Superintendent Bob Porter told the Culver Town Council members Tuesday night that work will be complete very soon.
Porter commented, “August 6 is their goal to have in the sidewalk, curb, approaches, light post bases, things like that. It won’t have top soil or sod in just yet, but that’s their goal.”
The project has gotten funding assistance with INDOT.
A trail on West Jefferson Street is expected to connect to the second phase of the Lake Max Trail. It is a project within the Marshall County Crossroads Regional Stellar Initiative and will not be constructed for a couple of years. There will be a time for public comment before the trail’s design goes to final stages and out to bid.
