Eastern Pulaski students will be able to get the COVID-19 vaccine at school starting next week.
Superintendent Dara Chezem says the school corporation is partnering with Pulaski Memorial Hospital for a vaccination clinic on August 20 and September 10. Kids have to be at least 12 years old in order to get the Pfizer vaccine.
While the spread of COVID-19 has been increasing, Chezem says Eastern Pulaski isn’t making any changes to last month’s reopening plan. “Masks are recommended and supported and required on school buses,” she says, “and then we will be doing contact tracing . . . and following the quarantine and isolation guidelines that the health department has given us.”
Classes will be in-person, students will have to follow seating charts in all school facilities, and high-touch surfaces will be sanitized daily.
