Four people were arrested Monday night after Knox City Police Department officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Heaton Street and Danker Street in Knox.
Knox City Police Chief Harold Smith says the traffic stop occurred just after 9 p.m. CT where a Knox City Police Department officer stopped a black Honda SUV for a moving violation. The driver, identified as 31-year-old Samantha Clemons, reportedly did not have a valid driver’s license.
Knox K9 Sergeant Chad Dulin arrived at the scene with K9 O’Neill. K9 O’Neill was deployed and alerted to the presence of narcotics, according to the report. Officers conducted a search of the vehicle and they allegedly found a large amount of suspected methamphetamine along with heroin and marijuana, syringes and drug paraphernalia.
Clemons faces preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine, visiting a common nuisance, possession of paraphernalia, and operator never licensed.
Megan Bain, 26, and Nicholas Singleton, 25, face preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine and visiting a common nuisance.
Shawn Gentry, 26, was arrested on preliminary charges of dealing methamphetamine, and possession of methamphetamine, a narcotic drug, paraphernalia, marijuana, and a syringe, plus maintaining a common nuisance.
Clemons, Bain and Singleton have been released from the Starke County Justice Center while Gentry remains there with no bond.
Suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
