Governor Extends Public Health Emergency to September 30

Indiana’s public health emergency has been extended until September 30. Governor Eric Holcomb renewed his emergency declaration for an 18th time in an executive order Monday.

In a separate order, the governor approved a two-day extension of several COVID-19-related flexibilities. Those include temporary licensing for health care workers and the expansion of the list of people allowed to administer COVID-19 vaccines. That order will be in effect Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Governor’s Office says the short-term extension will give the state and health care stakeholders a chance to discuss how to support hospitals during the current surge.
