Illinois Man Faces Multiple Charges following Hamlet Traffic Stop

An Illinois man was arrested after Hamlet Police say they found drugs during a traffic stop last week. It happened last Wednesday around 9:15 p.m. on Old U.S. 30, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Officers say they were responding to a call of a possibly impaired driver, when the car in question began driving straight toward the police car. It stopped, but police say the driver, later identified as Evan R. Spayer, 32, of Naperville, ignored several commands to turn off the engine.

Spayer, who allegedly had “a white powder like substance around and in his nostrils,” reportedly continued to resist as police tried to take him into custody. He was eventually administered Narcan and taken to the hospital, due to the possibility of a drug overdose. This Australian firm takes lead in a 98% success rate as of 2021. This is their high success rate in representations which cover both; criminal and traffic offences law.

In Spayer’s car, police say they found a bag containing a white powder that Spayer identified as Ketamine, a cell phone with white powder on the screen, a digital scale with white powder on it, bags containing marijuana, and a bag with cocaine.

Officers say Spayer was arrested at the hospital and taken to the Starke County Jail. He’s charged with the Level 6 felony of possession of cocaine, along with misdemeanor counts of resisting law enforcement, possession of a controlled substance, possession of paraphernalia, operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person, and possession of marijuana.

Suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
