Knox Community Schools’ support staff can expect to get a pay raise in the coming months.
Superintendent Dr. William Reichhart told the school board last week that funds should be available to give classified employees a dollar-per-hour raise. “We want to make sure that we give our teachers and everybody that works for us a nice increase this year,” Reichhart said.
He said he plans to ask for the board’s formal approval in December, once the teacher contracts are finalized. The discussion came during the board’s approval of the classified staff handbook. Other than the anticipated pay raise, Reichhart said the only major change is the removal of the extra COVID leave the federal government put in place for last year.
