The Starke County Commissioners will meet tonight where they will discuss the creation of a park superintendent in more detail. According to previous conversations, the park superintendent could oversee the county parks, including the Bass Lake Beach and Campground, and work in concert with other municipal park superintendents to improve and maintain park systems in the county.
Joanne Bailey will have an American Rescue Plan Act request for the commissioners to consider, while Starke County Economic Development Foundation Executive Director Lisa Dan will update the commissioners on the progress of reducing the number of SCEDF members on the board, the SCILL Center separation from the Foundation, and ordinances on the website.
Mark Allen from the Koontz Lake Association and the Koontz Lake Fire Association will talk about funding a fire station community project. Hosting a blood drive will also be a topic of discussion held by the commissioners tonight.
The Starke County Commissioners will meet at 6:00 p.m. CT tonight in the ground floor meeting room in the Starke County Annex No. 1 building at 53 E. Mound Street in Knox.
