Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of U.S. 35 and Toto Road in Knox Thursday morning.
Officers from the Starke County Sheriff’s Department say emergency personnel were called to the area at 6:46 a.m. CT where the driver of a Toyota pick-up reportedly failed to yield to the right-of-way of an oncoming semi truck.
The occupants in the pick-up, Knox residents 49-year-old Lisa Sons and 19-year-old Timothy Sons, were both transported to a South Bend hospital with serious injuries, according to the report.
The driver of the semi was not injured.
The Starke County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by Starke County EMS and the Knox-Center Township Fire Department.
