The West Central School Board members took time Thursday night to discuss stipends for extra work done during the pandemic. Superintendent Dan Zylstra said he has been in contact with the Teachers Association and more information on what that stipend will look like during the school board’s next meeting.
Zylstra said the board also took action to adjust contracts for the building principals for extra work done during the summer.
“We added 10 days just because of all of the extra hiring, with some of the hangover from COVID, and other issues. They put in more days in their contracts were so we adjusted those,” said Zylstra.
Zylstra commented that teacher turnover has been high at the school corporation this summer which has been experienced at most school corporations in the state.
