Eastern Pulaski School Board to Discuss COVID Reopening Plan Update

The Eastern Pulaski School Board members are meeting in special session tonight to discuss the corporation’s COVID Reopening Plan update.

The school board members will also have a chance for comments, as well as the public.

Tonight’s special meeting is at 5:30 p.m. Et in the Meeting Conference Center at the Winamac Community High School.

During their regular meeting last week, Superintendent Dara Chezem informed the board that the corporation was the recipient of a $26,038 Secured School Safety Grant which is half of the cost of a new phone system at the school corporation.

“This phone system sends an email alert to all administrators if 911 is called and identifies what room 911 originated from,” explained Chezem.  “The system also allows teachers to send and receive calls from their school phone extension from their cell phones.”

By having this feature, the teacher’s cell phone number is not shown as the return number which provides more security for the staff.
