North Judson residents have a chance to help shape the future of the town’s park system. A kickoff meeting for the creation of a five-year master plan is scheduled for tonight.
The town has hired the Troyer Group to put the plan together, with input from the park board, town council, and members of the public. Clerk-Treasurer Andrew Rowe told the town council last week that he’s been reaching out to residents who may be interested, with the goal of putting a committee together. As of last week, the planning kickoff meeting was tentatively scheduled for 6:00 this evening at North Judson Town Hall.
During last week’s council meeting, members officially approved the Troyer Group’s agreement for services. They selected Troyer earlier this month, despite the fact that its quote was the most expensive of the three the town received at almost $20,000. A current master plan would make the park board eligible for grant opportunities for potential projects.
