The Starke County Parks and Recreation Department will soon have its own logo.
Park Board President Richard Ballard told the Starke County Park Board members Tuesday night that Mirth and Whimsy representatives submitted a quote for a new logo.
“They said they would develop a logo for us for a quote of $600 and then $20 per hour for anything additional,” explained Ballard. “We did get a grant from the CVC [Convention and Visitors Commission] Board that will cover that.”
Park Board member Rik Ritzler noted that the company worked well with the Constellation of Starke members when developing a logo for that effort in 2019.
Superintendent Marc Vendl gave a favorable recommendation toward approval of the quote.
“I think we need to brand the parks department as we’re brand new. Branding is very, very important. It’ll be good for our Facebook page, for the parks and developing the future of the parks,” commented Vendl.
The park board members unanimously approved the quote.
Ballard noted that work on the logo would begin sometime later this month.
