Winamac Town Council Holds Public Hearing over Proposed 2022 Budget

The Winamac Town Council members opened a public hearing last week to take comments on the proposed 2022 budget.

The total budget is $2,045,776 which includes $30,000 in the Casino/Riverboat Fund, $20,000 in the Rainy Day Fund, $50,000 in Local Income Tax, $145,000 in the Motor Vehicle Highway Fund, $144,000 in the Park Fund, $2,000 in the Cemetery Fund, $30,000 in Cumulative Capital Development, $50,000 in the Economic Development Income Tax Fund, $65,000 in the Sanitation Fund, over $517,000 in the American Rescue Plan Act Fund, and $6,000 in the fireworks donations fund, among others. 

Winamac Town Manager Brad Zellers said there were no public comments during the hearing. 

The council members are scheduled to adopt the budget on October 11 at 6 p.m. ET during their regular meeting at the Winamac Utilities Complex.
