The Winamac Town Council members received an update from Town Marshal Tyler Campbell last week.
Town Manager Brad Zellers said Campbell requested a change in the officer’s retirement. He said the department will be transitioning from PERF to the 1977 Pension and Disability Fund. Zellers said the town will be moving forward with that change.
Meanwhile, Campbell is looking for another full-time officer and will hire a part-time position through the end of the year. More information on obtaining applications can be found by calling the Winamac Police Department at 574-946-4800.
Campbell also noted that Officer Speer was set to gradate from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy this week and that he did really well while going through training.
