The construction of an addition at the Tri-Township Consolidated School Corporation in Wanatah is trending ahead of schedule, according to Superintendent Kelly Shepherd.
He said the addition is looking toward the future for all students at Tri-Township Consolidated School Corporation and LaCrosse.
“We are adding five classrooms onto Wanatah which will allow us to move our high school up there next fall,” said Shepherd. “Our entire pre-K through 12th grade will be under one roof at Wanatah.”
Shepherd said patrons can drive by the building and see the project taking shape.
He continued, “They’re about 70 percent done with framing at this point. We’ve got the concrete deck, steel decking and framing, and we used cast technologies casting industries for our cast iron needs. We’ve gone through the exterior wall into our Media Center with a temporary hallway and a temporary wall. The project is in really good shape right now.”
As for plans for the future of the LaCrosse High School, Shepherd said those discussions will be held at some point.
“I know that’s a question we will continue to field. We still currently have that on the backburner as far as what will become of the old school,” commented Shepherd.
The construction project at the school in Wanatah is anticipated to be done in time for the start of the 2022-2023 school year.
