Another 40 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the tri-county area. There were 18 people in Marshall County diagnosed with COVID-19, 18 people in Starke County and four people in Pulaski County. They were among 1,822 new cases in the state, according to Monday’s update from the Indiana Department of Health.
There were no new deaths reported in the state.
The number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 continues to decrease. The census on the Indiana Department of Health’s coronavirus website shows 1,861 people in the hospital on October 3 which is 320 less people from Sunday, September 26.
The updated state’s school coronavirus dashboard shows 2,906 new cases from July 27 to October 1, 155 new teacher cases from August 29 to October 1, and 257 new staff cases from July 29 to October 1.
Locally, less than five new student cases of COVID-19 were reported at Knox High School, Knox Middle School, North Judson-San Pierre Jr./Sr. High School, North Judson-San Pierre Elementary School, Eastern Pulaski Elementary School, West Central Elementary School, and Culver Elementary School.
There were 11 new cases at Winamac High School, and six new cases at Winamac Middle School.
There were less than five new teacher cases at North Judson-San Pierre Elementary School, and less than five new staff cases at Culver Elementary School.
The free COVID-19 vaccine is free to residents age 12 and older. A list of vaccination sites can be found at www.ourshot.in.gov.
