The La Porte County Sheriff’s Department is conducting a death investigation stemming from a 911 call Tuesday, October 19.
Police say the La Porte County Regional 911 Center received the call just after noon CT about a possible deceased person inside a Coolspring Township home in the 3000 block of Edgebrook in Weatherstone Village Mobile Home Park.
When officers arrived at the scene, they reportedly attempted to establish contact with someone inside the residence. With the help of Crisis Negotiators, police say contact was made with a person inside the home and that person agreed to exit without incident.
Officers entered the residence and found a deceased man, according to the report.
Investigators were called to the scene where the investigation continues.
The La Porte County Sheriff’s Department indicated that there are no threats to nearby residents. No other information is being released at this time.
The La Porte County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the La Porte County Emergency Medical Service, Coolspring Fire Department and La Porte County Coroner’s Office.
