Those looking for work in Starke County’s manufacturing sector can visit with up to a dozen employers tomorrow. The Starke County Economic Development Foundation is teaming up with WorkOne for a job fair at Knox High School.
Foundation Executive Director Lisa Dan says there are all kinds of jobs in the Knox Industrial Park, across the county, and beyond. “We’ve got a national issue going on,” she says. “There are so many available jobs and not enough people to fill them, and Starke County is not unique.”
Dan expects 10 to 12 companies to take part, along with a recruiting company looking for workers for the Mammoth Solar project. The job fair takes place tomorrow from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the Knox High School Multi-Purpose Room. Jobseekers are asked to use Door No. 2.
It’s part of the Starke County Economic Development Foundation’s annual Manufacturers Day festivities. While the job fair for the public is going ahead as scheduled, the opportunity for middle school students to meet with local manufacturers has been postponed, due to COVID-19. However, the foundation’s Prospectus and Achievement Luncheon will be taking place on Thursday.
