Starke County Council President Dave Pearman brought up the possibility of allowing newly appointed Park Superintendent Mark Vendl to move to a different office.
Pearman said there is no heat in the building where Vendl currently takes care of operations at the Bass Lake Beach and Campground and thought that an office in a county building could better suit his needs.
Auditor Rachel Oesterreich said the Starke County Park Board preferred that Vendl be stationed at the Bass Lake Beach and Campground.
Vendl said he sometimes works out of his truck while there.
Councilman Don Binkley suggested that Vendl use the EMA office in the annex building until a new person could be hired in that position. Pearman agreed with that and further commented when a new EMA director is hired, he would like to see that person out at the highway garage, since they could be coordinating ADA efforts.
