Eastern Pulaski School Board Approves Employee Termination, Holds Public Hearing Concerning Teacher Collective Bargaining Agreement

The Eastern Pulaski School Board members unanimously approved the termination of Corporation Treasurer Angie Anspach during a special meeting Monday night.  The open position was posted on the corporation’s website on Tuesday.

Superintendent Dara Chezem did not explain the reason for the termination as she is not able to comment on personnel items.

Prior to the special meeting, the school board members opened a public hearing concerning the tentative agreement of the teacher collective bargaining agreement.

Chezem noted that the tentative agreement changed the salary schedule for the 2021-2022 school year to begin at $40,000 which includes additional columns concerning degrees and credits.

“This is proposed two-year contract.  The second year would be the same, except if our ADM [Average Daily Membership] in September is greater than or equal to 1,180 students and then that salary base would move from $40,000 to $41,000.”

Other highlights included an additional day of association leave to three days, and a teacher plus guest pass for all school events.

Chezem said the agreement also outlined insurance plans.

More details of the tentative agreement are included in the document on the school corporation’s website.

There were no other public comments.

The tentative agreement is anticipated to be acted on by the board members during their regular meeting Monday, November 8 at 5:30 p.m. ET.
