Several local communities have been awarded Indiana Department of Transportation Community Crossings Matching Grant funds for local road projects.
Starke County received about $682,000 for the resurfacing of 700 E. from State Road 8 to County Road 625 S. in Knox.
Hamlet received just over $75,000 to repave Pearl Street from Jefferson to Hamlet Street, Davis from Division to Jefferson, and Hamlet Street from Pearl to Terry.
North Judson received about $191,000 for street paving projects on Luken Street, John Street, Lucas from Mint Road to Division, Second Street from Schricker to Luken, Woodrow Street from Second to Third, and Weninger, State and Dahlke Streets from Wilson to Luken.
The Community Crossings Matching Grant program has provided more than $1 billion in state matching funds since 2016.
