The North Judson-San Pierre School Corporation will host a county-wide emergency exercise in the morning of Monday, November 22.
Superintendent Dr. Annette Zupin discussed the mock drill in more detail with the school board Tuesday night.
“It’s going to be a chlorine spill, so to speak, in our pool area,” explained Dr. Zupin. “We will have to mimic what we would do in this case. We will make real phone calls to dispatch and they will send real vehicles here.”
Dr. Zupin said it will be a good opportunity for everyone at the corporation.
“I think it’s great for our school officials for us to learn what we need to do to be prepared. I don’t know if we could be 100 percent prepared, but this will help us in how we contact emergency people and how we work together. We’re excited to have them.”
The students in the health class are anticipated to pose as actors as part of the event.
