The Pulaski County Justice Center project is moving along.
Community Development Commission Executive Director Nathan Origer told the Pulaski County Commissioners that steel arrived on site and welders were making some reinforcement work prior to the work on the second floor.
“They are expecting to pour the slab for the second floor next week,” explained Origer. “The sidewalk closest to the courthouse ramp, as you know, was removed and replaced late last week. Tonn and Blank hopes to have the entire courthouse-side sidewalk by Wednesday with new pour.”
He added that sky lights have arrived for the jail roof and they are anticipated to be installed on Monday, weather permitting.
“Roofing materials for the new addition start arriving within two weeks with installation probably beginning in early December once the project superintendent has returned from vacation,” said Origer.
Other infrastructure will be installed in the next couple of months.
Origer said the Pulaski County Prosecutor’s Office will be moving to the East Annex building on Thursday, November 11.
Origer continued, “Right now, I’m expecting the cost of the move to be no more than $1,600 which is just a hair above 10 percent of our total budget. The rest of that will go toward moving the Prosecutor’s Office back, moving the Circuit Court, moving what stuff CASA has into its new suite, and we will likely have plenty left over to move into contingency as is necessary.”
The project has experienced a slight delay with weather issues and other previously reported minor issues. It is estimated to be complete in May of 2022.
