Winamac Town Council Discusses COVID-19 Protocols

The Winamac Town Council will soon consider a resolution to update COVID-19 protocols.

The town council members reviewed current quarantine and isolation policies during their most recent meeting, but some believe additions need to be made.

Alvin Parish commented that an employee needs to be up front about having COVID-19 symptoms, and if that is not being followed there should be repercussions of their actions.

It was also stated that a fully vaccinated employee who is in close contact with someone who has tested positive should follow the same protocols as if the employee is not vaccinated.

If the employee would violate the protocols, it could result in a five-day leave without pay.

Town Attorney Justin Schramm was asked to put together a resolution to be considered during a special meeting yet to be scheduled.
