The Oregon-Davis School Board members discussed the distribution of Teacher Appreciation Grants during their meeting this week, according to Superintendent Bill Bennett.
“We had 26 staff members who were eligible to receive a stipend due to them being rated effective or highly effective,” stated Bennett. “We had 14 teachers who were effective and 12 who were highly effective. Those stipends range from about $600 to $450.”
Guidelines specify that highly effective teachers receive a percentage higher than teachers rated effective. The board approved those grants as presented.
Bennett added that loyalty stipends and raises for Non-Certified staff members were considered Monday night.
“The loyalty stipends were paid out based on years of experience, and the Non-Certified raises – the majority of the staff received a 50 cent raise which raises our starting pay to $10 [an hour] or more for all positions,” said Bennett.
The board approved the raises as presented.
