Pulaski County Veterans Service Officer Brent Frain recently submitted his resignation to the Pulaski County Commissioners.
Commission President Chuck Mellon commented Monday morning that the resignation letter did not have a date of when Frain would vacate the office so they could advertise for a new Veterans Service Officer.
Commissioner Maurice Loehmer recommended that the commissioners give him a two week notice effective December 20.
County Attorney Kevin Tankersley said Frain should be made aware that the commissioners can take action to fill the position, but if he has other plans on when he would vacate the office then those plans should be communicated with the commissioners.
The commissioners agreed to give him a two week notice, unless other plans are discussed.
A Veterans Service Officer in a neighboring county may be able to assist veterans with needs if there is gap from when Frain leaves and the employment of a new Veterans Service Officer in Pulaski County.
