A North Judson-San Pierre High School senior is the 2022 Starke County Community Foundation Lilly Endowment Community Scholar.
Hanna Chaffins will receive a full tuition, required fees and a special allocation of up to $900 a year for required books and required equipment for four years of undergraduate study at an Indiana public or private nonprofit college or university.
Hanna is the daughter of Roger and Sarah Chaffins and plans to study nursing. She has been involved in Student Council, National Honors Society, Blue Jay Fun Fair, Junior Cabinet, Homecoming Float and Hallway Decorating, Hoosier North Athletic Conference Math Competition, and Relay for Recess. She also has participated in Cross County, Basketball, Tennis and Track and Field while in school.
Lilly Endowment created the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Program for the 1998-1999 school year and has supported the program every year since with tuition grants totaling in excess of $439 million. More than 5,000 Indiana students have received the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship since the program’s inception.
In all, five students applied for the chance to be named Starke County Community Foundation Lilly Endowment Community Scholar.
