A new Winamac Park Board member was appointed by the Winamac Town Council Monday night.
Mike Buchanan was recommended for appointment in January 2022 which was approved unanimously by the council. Buchanan is the former town marshal for the Town of Winamac.
Chris Schramm previously announced that he was not seeking reappointment on the Winamac Park Board after his term ends at the end of the year. He attended his last regular park board meeting earlier this month.
“We got a lot of good things done,” Schramm commented. “The biggest thing I can think of is the restrooms. That was one of my favorite things and that came from the five-year plan – the master plan we worked on five years ago. I’ll miss seeing all of you guys, but I’m sure I’ll come back once in a while.”
The park board will meet to wrap up year-end business in a special meeting and hold a work session on the updated five-year Master Parks Plan Thursday, December 30 at 9 a.m. ET.
