Candidates Start Filing for Office in 2022 Election in Starke, Pulaski Counties

Several candidates filed for office in the 2022 Election Wednesday in Starke County and in Pulaski County.

In Pulaski County, a number of Republican party candidates filed for office including Chris Scramm for Pulaski County Sheriff, Holly VanDerAa for Pulaski County Assessor and State Convention Delegate, Shianne Zellers for Pulaski County Assessor, Jon Frain for Pulaski County Coroner, Daniel P. Murphy as a State Convention Delegate, Cathy Elston for Francesville Clerk-Treasurer, Brian Young for Pulaski County Council District 3, and JoLynn Behny for Pulaski County Clerk and State Convention Delegate.

In Starke County, Republican Jack Rosa filed for Starke County Sheriff, Democrat Rob Olejniczak filed for Starke County Sheriff, Republican Mandy Thomason filed for Starke County Recorder, Republican Bernadette Welter-Manuel filed for Starke County Clerk, Republican Anthony (Tony) Black filed for Starke County Auditor, Republican Tom DeCola filed for Starke County Auditor, Democrat Rachel Oesterreich filed for Starke County Auditor, Republican Bryan Cavender filed for County Commissioner District 2, Republican April Cooke filed for Starke County Coroner, Democrat Mark Allen filed for Oregon Township Trustee, and Republican Michele Albon filed for California Township Advisory Board. 

Republicans Dylan Lewandowski, Bernadette Welter-Manuel, Mandy Thomason, Cathy Sue Hensell, and Robert Hensell filed as State Delegates. 

Candidates have until Friday, February 4 to file for office.
