The North Judson Town Council members made a decision concerning employee COVID-19 protocols when they met this week.
Clerk-Treasurer Andrew Rowe said the council was to consider an ordinance on the matter, but the town will simply follow the guidance of the Indiana Department of Health and Starke County Health Department.
Rowe commented, “As a rule of thumb, we try to put our own mandates together to fit our own number of employees and type of workplace, but things change so often, and the rules and the guidelines change so often that it doesn’t make sense to constantly keep passing ordinances every time something changes. So, that ordinance was not passed.”
Rowe noted that the council members did agree to give employees three extra days of paid time off in addition to the two days already allotted for the year, in case quarantine time is needed or if an employee is COVID-19 positive.
