The Oregon-Davis School Board members considered a NEOLA Policy allowing homeschooled students to participate in extra-curricular activities at the corporation.
They reviewed an option where the superintendent may allow a resident student to participate in one or more co-curricular or extra-curricular activities at the school corporation as long as the student enrolls in one or more academic courses and meets the eligibility criteria established for the activity.
Superintendent Bill Bennett said this is new to the corporation.
“This is something that we have not had in the past, but we have had interest especially in the Elementary grades,” commented Bennett.
The school board approved the policy for the school corporation.
The Oregon-Davis School Board will meet tonight where the board members will reorganize, accept generous donations and receive updates from administators.
Following the regular board meeting at 6 p.m. CT, the board will open the Board of Finance meeting. Additionally, a public hearing is set for 6:30 p.m. CT to take public comments on the superintendent’s contract.
The proposed contract is posted below.
The meetings will be held in the Humanities Room in the Oregon-Davis Junior/Senior High School at 5990 N. 750 E. in Hamlet.
