Pulaski County EMS Director Brandon DeLorenzo addressed paid time off, or PTO, with the commissioners last week.
He would like to see PTO reinstated to his employees who return to work full-time at the EMS Department. If a full-time EMS employee would drop to part-time to work full-time at another job, and then back to full-time with EMS, he would like to see the PTO time be reinstated as well as the longevity status.
The first year of PTO is 48 hours and then 128 hours for full-time EMS employees from two to five years. It would be 152 hours for employees who have worked six to ten years.
The commissioners agreed to table the issue and speak more about it with the Pulaski County Council during their joint session February 14.
