The Starke County Commissioners reviewed information submitted by Starke County Surveyor Bill Crase and Building Inspector Boz Williams about the acquisition of a new truck for Planning Commission purposes.
The Chevy Equinox currently utilized by Williams is having maintenance issues and it was thought that it would be best to purchase a new vehicle.
Commissioner Mark Gourley asked about the Chevy Silverado pickup truck purchase and why they were not seeking another SUV. Crase and Williams commented that since solar projects are coming into the county, it will be better to inspect those projects by using a larger truck so it can maneuver in fields with more ease.
The commissioners agreed to purchase the 2021 Chevy Silverado as presented at a cost of $37,977.23 from Auto Park GMC in Plymouth.
