State Unemployment Rates Hit Record Low

Unemployment rates are continuing to drop in the tri-county area.

Marshall County’s rate in December was 0.9 percent compared to 1.6 percent in November, Starke County’s unemployment rate was 1.6 percent in December compared to 2.4 percent in November, and Pulaski County’s unemployment rate was 1.2 percent in December compared to 1.8 percent in November.

Indiana’s unemployment rate fell from 3.0 percent in November to 2.7 percent in December which is a record low for the state dating back to 1976, according to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development. 

More people are employed as Marshall County, Starke County and Pulaski County saw an increase in residents working.
