The Town of Monterey recently received a $5,800 placemaking grant, thanks to the Community Foundation of Pulaski County Board.
Foundation board members presented the check to Monterey Town Council members Jim Fleury, Linda McCune, Doug Denton, and Emily Bailey.
The grant will help fund the purchase of new picnic tables and benches for the town park.
Foundation officials say special placemaking grants totaling over $26,000 were made available in 2021 that assisted funding projects in many areas in the county.
