Community Services of Starke County will be celebrating 45 years in April.
An anniversary celebration event is scheduled for April 23 where long-time former director Joan Haugh-Beatty will be honored.
The anniversary celebration will be at the Nancy J. Dembowski Community Center in Knox. Tickets are $25 per person with dinner at 6 p.m., program at 7 p.m. and dancing at 7:30 p.m. CT.
More information about the event will be released as the event gets closer.
Additionally, Community Services of Starke County Executive Director Cindy Benke announced that the members of the Knox VFW Post #748 recently donated a 2021 Chrysler Pacifica van to be used in the public transportation fleet. The van had 41 miles on it when the organization received it and it is under full warranty.
A ribbon cutting ceremony will be scheduled in the near future to officially welcome the new addition to the fleet.
