Members of the Memorial Swinging Bridge project asked the Eastern Pulaski School Board members Monday night for use of the high school gym in order to host a possible fundraising concert.
They are hoping to contact Girl Named Tom, the vocal group that won the latest “The Voice” competition on NBC. The group is from Ohio but has ties to Pulaski County.
The concert would be scheduled for late spring or summer as a fundraising event for the Memorial Swinging Bridge “Light our Legacy” project. However, the event has not been confirmed or scheduled.
The Memorial Swinging Bridge was built to memorialize Pulaski County soldiers from all wars. Committee and community members will celebrate the bridge’s centennial in July 2023 with a project in the works to light the bridge before that celebration. The concert, if eventually scheduled, would collect funds to complete funding the lighting portion of the project and other aspects of the celebration.
The Eastern Pulaski School Board members approved the request, with formal paperwork to be submitted as required.
