The Pulaski County Commissioners implemented a Disaster Emergency Declaration Wednesday afternoon which will remain in effect until conditions improve and the commissioners cancel the emergency.
The commissioners agreed that Pulaski County residents are at risk from a severe winter weather event that includes an accumulation of snow and strong winds which have resulted in a widespread drifting of roads.
The travel status in Pulaski County is at a Warning Level. The Warning Level is the highest level of local travel advisory meaning that travel may be restricted to emergency management workers only. Residents are directed to refrain from all travel, comply with necessary emergency measures, cooperate with public officials and disaster services forces in executing emergency operation plans, and obey and comply with the lawful directions of properly identified officers.
