Pulaski County Superior Court Judge Crystal A. Kocher approached the Pulaski County Council members Monday night to ask that two funds be included in the budget as requested by the Department of Corrections.
Judge Kocher explained that the request was made in November, but it had not been done by the deadline. She said she asked for a request for an extension, and it was granted for early this week, but Auditor Laura Wheeler had not completed the task.
Judge Kocher was about to ask for another extension after Wheeler indicated that the request would not be completed until next week, but Judge Kocher told WKVI News that Wheeler created the accounts the DOC requested so the financial reports were filed as required.
The accounts were necessary to retain grant funding for mandatory pre-trial programs in the amount of $60,000. If these accounts were not created, the grant funding receipted by the county could have been jeopardized and the county would be responsible for funding those programs.
