North Judson Town Council Discusses Restroom Project

The North Judson Town Council members reviewed several items involved with a project that will be partially funded with money from the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA).  The county was a finalist in the 2019 Regional Stellar Communities Designation process and $333,000 was given to the county for reaching that stage in the process.

Clerk-Treasurer Andrew Rowe said the town’s project will involve a restroom at Norwayne Field in North Judson.  He noted that the council members agreed to cover any costs beyond what is not covered by the OCRA funds and over what the town’s match would be. The main restroom project will be covered by the funds, but the town will fund work around the parking lot, a small sidewalk attachment, and a concrete pad where picnic tables and benches will be included.  The concrete area will include a shade sail to provide relief from the heat to park visitors.

Rowe said since there were some adjustments to the overall projects with the Constellation of Starke plans for the funding, the total cost of what the town will spend on the project will be finalized soon.
