The Pulaski County Historical Society will host the annual feature program Thursday night (March 17) which will be “The Potowatami of the Fulton/Pulaski Counties Region and the Trail of Death” given by Shirley Willard of the Fulton County Historical Society.
According to information submitted by Karen Fritz, Willard has written, edited and published books and newsletters for the Fulton County Historical Society, its Genealogy Section, Indian Awareness Center, Historical Power Association, and Potawatomi Trail of Death Association. She continues to volunteer as a writer for Fulton County Historical Society and as Fulton County Historian.
She was a charter member of Fulton County Historical Society, and she founded the Trail of Courage Living History Festival in 1976.
Members of the community are invited to attend the event Thursday night at 6 p.m. CT at the Old Mercantile Building in Pulaski. Light refreshments will be served.
