A second COVID-19 booster dose is now available to residents age 12 and older who have weakened immune systems and individuals age 50 and older who received a booster dose at least four months prior to this available dose.
Officials from the Indiana Department of Health are notifying vaccine providers that the second boosters of the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines may be administered to individuals who qualify. They say booster doses have been shown to increase protection from hospitalization and death due to COVID-19 and the Omicron variant of the virus.
