Starke County Clerk to Request Increase in Poll Worker Pay

Starke County Clerk Bernadette Welter-Manuel will be asking the commissioners for an increase in poll worker pay.

She told WKVI News that the current pay for Election Day is $95 and she and the Election Board members feel that it should be increased $10 to show appreciation for hard work.  The Starke County Election Board members agreed that the request should be taken to the commissioners during their meeting next week.

Additionally, absentee ballots will be going out to those voters who have submitted an application to receive a mail ballot in this year’s May Primary Election.  The last day to submit an application to the Clerk’s Office to receive a ballot by mail is Thursday, April 21.

Voter Registration ends Monday, April 4.  Voters may review the status of their registration file at www.indianavoters.in.gov and make amendments as necessary.  A list of available Vote Centers can also be found on the portal page, as well as early voting hours, and a sample ballot.
