Construction work is expected to resume this week on the Vocational Wing at the Knox High School.
Knox Community School Superintendent Dr. William Reichhart said semis were bringing in equipment last week for staging and work on the outer walls of the addition will go up in the next few weeks.
“Our Vocational Wing will house the Welding and Agricultural programs, as well as Robotics,” explained Dr. Reichhart. “They are telling me that they’re going to start laying block so we’ll be able to see the walls going up on the new Vocational Wing. Weather permitting, and it looks like we’re getting some good weather, that will start so we’ll be able to see that go up and that’s going to change the landscape of our campus once again.”
The project will be paid for from leftover bond money, and federal ESSER II and ESSER III funding, with no impact to taxpayers.
Dr. Reichhart previously said the proposed completion date is in October of this year, but material shortages may cause delays.
