BraunAbility is celebrating 50 years of being a local and global leader in mobility solutions, impacting millions of people with mobility challenges around the world, under the leadership of the late Ralph Braun.
BraunAbility officials have planned events and programs to commemorate the milestone including a Golden Anniversary Bash at the Winamac facility for employees in September and time with the community that will include games, entertainment, food, car show, and more.
The company also plans to partner with Servants at Work to build 50 ramps in 50 days for families in the towns where employees work and in select markets where it owns retail locations to assist those with mobility challenges.
The ramps are anticipated to be built in July and August by BraunAbility and Servants at Work volunteers, completely free to the home’s occupant. Each ramp is constructed of wood and adheres strictly to ADA standards. To qualify for the ramp build, recipients must have a long-term disability and have a household income below the Area Mean Income for the state of residence. BraunAbility is also giving back to nonprofits and the clients they serve, and the innovation team is reimagining Ralph Braun’s first wheelchair accessible vehicle – the postal jeep outfitted with a hydraulic lift and hand controls – to reflect the possibilities of tomorrow’s mobility vehicles.
More information will be shared about the Golden Anniversary Bash as the September 10th date approaches.
